Associations
The Mystery Shopping industry has several trade associations which provide support to both companies and industry professionals.
Ed. Note: We have recently learned that the National Center for Professional Mystery Shoppers (NCPMS) is no longer in operation and have removed that listing from this page.
Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MSPA)
The MSPA is the largest professional trade association dedicated to improving service quality using anonymous resources. Its membership is comprised of over 260 member companies worldwide including marketing research and merchandising companies, private investigation firms, training organizations, and companies specializing in mystery shopping services. Each geographic contingent of the MSPA has its own website.
Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MSPA-North America)
Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MSPA-Asia Pacific)
Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MSPA-Europe)
Although membership in MSPA is for companies involved in the mystery shopping industry, it provides many valuable services for mystery shoppers as well.
- The MSPA promotes a code of ethics for its member companies and certified shoppers. Its members will never charge a mystery shopper a fee to apply for work.
- The MSPA Bulletin Boards are a place for mystery shoppers to ask, learn, share, and discuss everything related to Mystery Shopping.
- The MSPA Shopper Search Page is where mystery shoppers can Search for an Assignment and Search for Shopper Recruitments in their local areas.
- MSPA member companies usually display the MSPA logo on their company website. This will help mystery shoppers find companies who adhere to the MSPA code of ethics.
- The MSPA provides Shopper Certification which can enhance a mystery shopper’s image as a serious professional.
